Deerfoot IT Resources has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and skilled Platform Engineer to join our client's welcoming and inclusive team.

This full-time platform engineering role is remote first but has base locations in Telford, Aston - Birminghamand Bristol and some to travel to one of these locations will be required.

This position comes with an attractive salary of £50,000-£110,000 and a compelling benefits package.


As a flexible Platform Engineer, you will work as part of an agile team to help public sector clients build and continuously improve digital services using the best open-source software.

To give you an idea of how this platform engineering job would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

  • Undertake cross-functional engineering projects, work in small teams with other engineers in different knowledge spheres, and build supportable, sustainable and reliable services
  • Help the company achieve their vision and have the chance to make a real difference at the heart of the digital transformation within the UK Public Sector
  • Have opportunities to develop and progress, working on largescale, technically challenging projects
  • Experience debugging complex, multiserver services in a high availability production environment
  • Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Extremely sound knowledge of Linux
  • Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience building infrastructure in AWS using Terraform
