Litigation Paralegal - Typical Duties:
- Carrying out compliance matters including Solicitor Checks, ID Documents, Evidence of Funds. Ensuring systems are current and accurate.
- Maintaining awareness of all cases being conducted by the team
- Keeping up to date with the specialisms of the Solicitors within the department
- Negotiating and agreeing fees for cases
- Appropriately allocating new enquires to solicitors, taking into account experience, availability, skills and specialisms
- Managing finances by collecting fees and maintaining accurate client accounts
- Raising invoices, transferring money and managing disbursements
- Providing the clients with information about progress or possible delays in cases
- Organising meetings (both in person and virtual) between solicitors, clients, barristers, and external experts
- Undertaking relevant research and cognisance of the court rules
- Lodging documents at court physically and electronically
- Carrying out administrative and business management activities including:
- File opening for new matters using our practice management system
- Largescale printing and collation of court papers, evidence, bundles (electronic and hard copy) and court documents
- Drafting routine letters and completion statements and Land registry Forms
- Checking computerised diaries and to arrange/avoid clashes in commitments
Litigation Paralegal - Requirements:
Proven experience of working to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail and accuracy are a must
Additional requirements:
- Will have a minimum of GCSE English and Maths at A-C or equivalent
- Enthusiastic and keen to offer support to the team and be relied on
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
- Your verbal and written communication will be clear, straightforward and accurate
- You will have the ability to use your own initiative and demonstrate excellent team working skills.
- You will be adaptable, logical, and work well under pressure
