Location: We are currently looking to recruit Industrial Electricians to work within our maintenance department of our Bioresources business area at Yorkshire Water. As a mobile worker, you will be based at home but required to work across various locations in the Hull and Bridlington area.

Work type: Permanent, working 37 hours per week. Out-of-hours, weekend working, and bank holidays will be worked as part of a structured stand-by rota.

The Role: As an Industrial Electrician, you will undertake maintenance of Yorkshire Water's electrical and mechanical assets across Energy & Recycling sites. Mobile working as part of a Maintenance Team to deliver Planned & Reactive maintenance. Responding to emergency calls both in and out of hours (on call-out rota). Driving to deliver improved asset reliability through effective decision making.

Your responsibilities:

• Undertake maintenance of Yorkshire Water's electrical and mechanical assets across Energy & Recycling sites.
• Mobile working as part of a Maintenance Team to deliver Planned & Reactive maintenance.
• Responding to emergency calls both in and out of hours (on call-out rota).
• Driving to deliver improved asset reliability through effective decision making.

You will be required to:

• Work unsupervised in remote geographic locations and be accountable for the completion of planned and reactive electrical tasks within agreed timescales, quality, and cost parameters.
• Manage and prioritise your own workload effectively and build and maintain relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers, and contract partners.
• Adhere to the Health and Safety policy and standards actively identifying hazards, providing mitigation, and reporting onto the company hazard database to ensure the cause of the hazard is removed.
• Supervise approved Contract Partners, providing risk assessments and method statements where permit to work is required for a given task.
• Use a Toughbook to capture all work activity and job status in line with workflow processes.
• Assist in the development and training of apprentices as well as less experienced members of the team, identifying ways to improve the value and service delivered by the Maintenance Function within Bioresources.
• Installation & commission new plant and equipment to relevant standards.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults on systems and plant.

What skills, experience & qualifications you will need:

• A recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and either a City & Guilds/ ONC/ BTEC/ NVQ/ HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Eng Tech.
• A full valid driving licence (with no more than six points).

Desirable qualifications:

• IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City and Guilds 2382-18).
• CompEx 1 - 4.
• HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Mandatory requirements:

• Safe isolation to the current IET regulations.
• As a time served industrial electrician.
• Fault finding on control circuits up to the PLC.
• IT literate e.g., MS office.
• Ability to produce maintenance reports.
• Experience of fault finding with industrial motors and starters.
• Experience fault finding with industrial 3 phase systems.
• Experience working with rotating equipment.
• Experience of fault finding on LV control circuits.

Desirable experience and knowledge:

• Experience of pneumatics.
• Work within ATEX standards.
• Experience of maintaining UPS systems.
• Fault finding experience of soft start or variable speed drives.
• Fault finding experience of actuated valves.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience gained as an industrial electrician within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors.
• Has a proven track record of maintaining and repairing 3 phase rotating machinery and associated control systems.
• Has a systematic approach to fault finding using industry best practice.
