Grade UE08, £44,414 - £54,421 per annum

Full Time, 35 hours per week
**Fixed term contract for 4 years


The Opportunity:


This Research Associate position will contribute to The Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies funded project, SuperMachine within the Institute for Energy Systems in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by The Royal Academy of Engineering.


This role is UE08 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 4 years in the first instance.

**Your skills and attributes for success: - Ability to develop novel solutions to scientific and technical challenges in applied superconductivity, evidenced by a track record of research and publication in applied superconductivity, in particular superconducting machines

  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, including ability to schedule and manage project workflow, as well as managing a team of researchers (PDRAs and PhDs)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to create and nurture a positive work environment involving academics, PDRAs, PhDs and technicians, as well as external project partners.
