Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced, Placement & Progression Officer to join our team.


The primary focus of this role will be to lead and deliver around year programme of learner recruitment and progression activities and cultivate productive referral and employer partnerships.

The activities will be focused on 16 to 19-year olds within a further education setting.


The role will also include the delivery of a first-class induction to Nova Training, attendance at careers events and information, advice and guidance support.

You will also be responsible for all administrative duties associated with the role.


For this role you will be required to hold a full clean driving licence and have access to your own car as travelling will be a requirement.

Key Responsibilities include:


  • Being the first point of contact for new learners. Coordinating and delivering an induction programme and ensuring all learner vetting information is accurate and compliant.
  • Addressing questions from learners, ensuring clear information is shared and learners are supported within their first few weeks on programme.
  • Acting as a mentor for learners providing Information, Advice and Guidance as appropriate. Supporting the Centre Manager with home visits where required.
  • Supporting the development of referral and employer partnerships.
  • Ensuring learners and employers receive highquality IAG that leads to positive outcomes.
  • Creating strong relationships with Colleges and other organisations that act as key progression routes.
  • Liaising with employers and learners in placement, maintaining positive relationships encouraging progression into an apprenticeship where appropriate.
  • Updating our internal systems with induction details ensuring compliance with our statutory obligations as an FE provider.
  • Ensuring full adherence to our Safeguarding Policy and practices.
  • Implementing KCSIE practices in all areas of your work.
  • Tracking induction activity ensuring learners engage with the programme and are retained.
  • Ensuring processes are adhered to and that all documentation is completed to a high standard and is compliant with the relevant ESFA funding rules and internal standards.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Level 2 Literacy, numeracy and ICT.
  • Excellent technical ability with systems, including PICS, E-Compliance or equivalent education monitoring software
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record in supporting and mentoring young people in education
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their educational goals
  • The ability to work in ambiguous situations and provide clear/best fit learnerfocused solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills, ensuring inductions are well organised, professional and timely.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams.

Range from £20,000 to £27,000.00 pa (depending on experience & qualifications)
