The Workshop at our Head Office located in Sutton in Ashfield is one of our key remanufacturing locations.

Providing in depth mid-life servicing right through to nut and bolt rebuilds, our client base includes the UK's major bus operators, iconic institutions such as the RNLI, and household names such as Babcock International.

Our facilities include processing equipment that allows us to clean used components to as new condition, inspection and repair equipment to ensure key tolerances are met, and testing facilities that include over 5MW of combined engine power.


The Role
The Workshop Supervisor is a key front level leadership position.

The role is vital to ensure the safe and smooth daily running of the workshop operation, ensuring that work progresses to expectations, problems are solved, and challenges overcome.

We have a team of 9 highly skilled and dedicated workshop engineers for which you will be directly responsible, as well as being supported by 2 administrative staff.

You will report directly to the Service Manager who oversees the facility.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of the day to day running of the Workshop, ensuring that good timekeeping, good housekeeping and high standards of work are maintained.
  • Effective planning of work to ensure that department needs are met, and resources and materials are available when required, work times are adhered to, and that all activities are completed efficiently
  • Be a visible and available leader for the team, ensure that we develop a strong, safe and supportive culture for all staff and drive high levels of engagement
  • Provide technical support to the team, develop a network across the business, assist customers with technical enquiries and respond to customer quotation requests whilst providing high levels of customer service
  • Play an active role with supporting the service manager with financial reporting /forecasting, medium and longterm planning, as well as the strategic direction for the department

Key Performance Indicators

  • Department Revenue and Efficiency KPI's, such as utilisation, productivity, NPT etc
  • Workflow targets and management to completion and invoice of WIP
  • Customer Satisfaction measures
  • QHSE Audit Scoring

About You


A passionate, driven, determined, and motivational leader, with infectious enthusiasm, who can inspire and lead an experienced team to drive results and the high standards Mitchells is known for.

You will be time served to City and Guilds or equivalent, and either be educated to HND level or possess the equivalent experience and knowledge in our field.

Salary:
£36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
