Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity that has arisen for 6 or 12 month fellowships within our large, tertiary referral hospital due to planned expansion of our current workforce to commence as soon as possible.

The successful applicants will be based at Birmingham Women's Hospital with opportunity to work in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

UHB is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England, serving a regional, national and international population.

It includes Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital and Community Services, Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham Chest Clinic.

Anaesthetic services to Birmingham Women's Hospital are provided by the large Anaesthetic department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The Birmingham Women's Hospital (BWH) adjoins the QEHB site and offers a complete range of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Services.

The hospital is the Regional referral centre for Obstetrics and houses the Regional Neonatal Unit and the Fetal Medicine Department.


BWH has over 8000 deliveries a year with extensive fetal and maternal medicine departments including the regional GUCH service in addition to specialist renal, liver, endocrine & neurology clinics with input from UHB specialists.

The caesarean section rate is just below 30% and the epidural rate for labour analgesia is around 23%.
