Accountancy Recruit is partnering a charity based in South Norfolk in the recruitment of a Management Accountant for a 9 month contract to cover maternity leave.

This could be either a full time or part time (3-4 days per week) role.

The purpose of the roleis the timely delivery of accurate and relevant financial Management Information, to ensure that there are appropriate financial controls in operation, especially regarding cash and management of the accounts team.

You will support the Executive Team to deliverobjectives and inform the strategic decision-making process. Additionally, you will drive forward the automation of the Finance Department to manage capacity.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


MI - Responsible for ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate and relevant financial management information including: -
Monthly management accounts by working day 10 of the month for distribution to the Exec Team having been reviewed with the CFO and CEO. The management accounts include P&L, balance sheet and cashflow with commentary on key trends and variances.


Preparation of weekly performance stats including variance analysis.


Overhead reportsby working day 12of the month for distribution to the Exec Team showing performance vs. budget.


Capex reportby working day 14of the month for distribution to the Exec showing performance vs.

budget.


Financials Controls
Responsible for ensuring that there are documented financial controls and procedures in place that are disseminated and implemented, with particular focus on: Cash income

  • Purchase to pay cycle, covering cost of sales expenditure, overheads and capex
  • Order to cash cycle, covering all forms of income
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, intercompany and stock
  • Fixed assets, including asset register
  • Payroll

Compliance

Responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory obligations including:

  • Completion and filing of VAT returns, Corporation tax returns, Companies House information, Charities Commission information and Annual Audit

Finance team


Management and lead the finance team ensuring they have the skills to deliver in the appropriate environment, supported by effective communication and training as required.


Skills required:


  • Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience
  • Ability to work to timetable
  • Accurate, attention to detail
  • Effective communication with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to work effectively in a team.

Renumeration
Salary c£40,000 pro rata

Holidays; 25 days per annum plus bank holidays pro rata

Hours: 37.5 hour per week
