Arcade Customer Services Cashier/Keyholder
Cordwells Amusements, Hyde
Permanent full time/part time
Cordwells is an established family business offering arcade and slots entertainment in Hyde town centre.
We operate the best traditional and state of the art machines and terminals and are looking for someone to join us providing outstanding service so our customers enjoy a great visit.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to progress to the role of keyholder following training.What we have to offer

What you will be doing
- Meeting and greeting customers
- Cash handling and managing float
- Providing drinks and light refreshments
- Keeping the venue clean and tidy
- Helping to maintain gambling compliance
- Opening and closing premises once fully trained
Briefly, the duties include making customers welcome and comfortable, giving change, serving food and drinks, providing information about the games, machines and gambling safety and keeping the premises clean.
The person we are looking for will need
- Cash handling skills
- Accuracy and ability to work at a fast pace
- To be vigilant and alert
- Flexibility to cover holidays and other absence
- To be well presented and professional at all times
- To be able to work morning and evening shifts over 7 days
As a small company, we work hard to create a safe and pleasant atmosphere for our customers and employees so you will need to enjoy working closely with other people and be happy to work as part of a team.
You will be required to be vigilant and alert and have good cash handling skills as you will be responsible for your own float and accurate change giving.
Your role will be varied so you will have to be adaptable and willing to learn. You will need to be very flexible as your working pattern will change weekly.It will include weekends and bank holidays and you will need to be able to help cover colleagues' holidays and other absence.
As we operate within the gambling industry, there is an element of proof of age checking as well as complying with, and following strict gambling legislation.
Previous Experience
- Working in an arcade or the gaming sector would be an advantage
- Cash handling experience essential
- Hospitality or retail experience
- Have worked in a customer facing role
The person we are looking for will need to have experience of working in a public facing role and providing customer service.
They will also need to demonstrate that they have good numerical and cash handling ability and that they have used these skills in other employment.
Previous keyholding responsibilities would be helpful.Employment Information
- Permanent employment following successful probation period
- Rota is worked over 7 days
- Monday
- Saturday; Varied shifts between 9am and 8.30pm
- Sundays and bank holidays; 10am 6pm
- Full/part time 3/4/5 days per week
- Variable hours
- Full training will be given
