Primary role purpose:


We are looking for a Solution Designer to join Inmarsat to focus on Product Master Data Management within Lead to Cash.

You have extensive experience in both designing and overseeing the delivery of product catalogue data driven solutions along with product lifecycle management best practices.


In your role as a Solution Designer, you will work closely with business stakeholders, users and analysts to understand what challenges the business are trying to resolve.

You will then produce specifications and / or designs that follow industry and technology best practices and meet the needs of the business.

It will also be your responsibility to work with the development partners and teams to ensure what is delivered meets your designs and thus satisfies the business needs.


To succeed, the role requires a unique mix of skills including strong time management and prioritization, excellent communication both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

You must be able to work with multi-disciplined teams across the Lead to Cash IT value chain, driving product success without breaking the self-organizing culture that makes lean and agile delivery organizations successful.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish an efficient collaborative working relationship with the business stakeholders, technical teams, delivery teams and third parties
  • Provide design and thought leadership within the solution design team to convert business requirements and needs into coherent solution designs utilizing the capabilities of the core Platforms.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements during the conceptual stage with a view to exploit best practices and core features of the processes and technology deployed
  • Proactively support the business in designing new products and services so that they utilize features available within the core solutions. Thus minimising the need for customization and development leading to faster to market products
  • Provide oversight to project resources and contribute to concurrent projects.
  • Work with the development teams to ensure what is delivered meets designs provided
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to the operational support teams as appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of new industry developments and gain an understanding on how new and emerging technologies are being deployed by carriers.
  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to analyse documented business and operational requirements to determine the best solution that meets the business needs
  • Analyse and assess requirements to identify upstream and downstream system and process impacts to proactively communicate impacts, risks, and solutions to other technology and business owners.

Qualifications:


Essential Knowledge and Skills:


  • Proven experience and expertise in defining and delivering solutions within product master data driven architectures
  • Excellent knowledge of Product Master Data Management (MDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Excellent knowledge of Telecom industry
  • Demonstrable experience of producing Product designs for complex transformation projects in telecommunications
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills, coupled with a logical, disciplined and structured approach to documentation and procedures
  • Excellent spoken and written communication with a painstaking attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision, whilst participating fully as a member of the Solution Design team
  • Comfortable escalating issues and actions with senior stakeholders where required
  • Knowledge of a range of telecommunications technical platforms and solutions
  • Experience of working in a highly augmented environment with multiple partners and suppliers

  • Agile methods and ceremonies
  • Sigma Unified Product Catalogue
  • TM Forum Standards (SID)
