The aim of this role is to work part of the ABP team to deliver concept, to launch product development that meets the customer requirements, and is in line with business KPI's as well as meeting the key dates set out in critical paths.


  • Monday to Thursday: 8:3017:00

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Working on a concept to launch basis ensuring communication with team and
customers

  • Looking at regular market trends creating new ideas for new products
  • Modification of products in line with customer requirements using the development process and carrying out tasks in the correct order
  • Development of products in line with customer requirements using the development

  • Reviewing and assessing the data gained from trials and analysis and escalating for
guidance from the NPD Manager to allow you to carrying out the appropriate actions

  • Supporting in customer benchmarking and quality panels
  • Manage the workload of multiple customers and prioritizing requirements with guidance
from the NPD manager on critical paths

  • Reviewing and understanding customer policies and using that data to overlay the
development procedure to ensure all products comply with the correct policies

  • Ownership of existing processes with a continuous improvement approach working in
line with business requirements

  • Writing/supporting on submission forms, specifications (internal and external) and
customer required technical documents to meet customer deadlines

  • Work interdepartmentally with Operations and Commercial team to ensure product trials
are successful

  • Ensure accurate records are available for accessing and viewing by relevant personnel
  • Attend and support product launches

Personal Specification:


  • A background in a food manufacturing FMCG environment
  • Up to date knowledge of labelling standards, allergen information and food related
legislation

  • A knowledge of current food trends within both retail and hospitality industries
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask and be able to work well with all
levels of the business

  • Attention to detail and a passion for food is necessary in order to thrive within the NPD
team

  • Able to work effectively in a faced paced environment where team working is key
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach, whilst maintaining a methodical and structured
system of working

  • Ability to think creatively, and support departmental or site strategies
