Description
We are seeking a Compliance & Risk Officer to join a compliance team of an International Bank.

This is a 12-month FTC with the potential to go permanent (depending on performance)


Responsibilities

  • To assist Head of Compliance, MLRO with the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and controls which reduce the risk of financial crime and money laundering.
  • Contribute to development of Compliance strategies and plans. Communication of new regulatory requirements to Senior Management and relevant business areas.
  • To design, develop and monitor compliance monitoring plan and conduct reviews in accordance with approved methodology covering inter alia: review execution, Sample sizes, share findings, escalation process, Management Information (MI) reporting, Issuestracking and record keeping.
  • To monitor and on a regular basis, to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures, controls and procedures put in place by the business and the First Line of defence and to address the bank's compliance with its regulatory obligations
  • Development and maintenance of Compliance policies & Processes, Manuals and AML Policies.
  • To assist and oversee relevant Compliance/ AML Staff training to be rolled out on an annual basis.

Requirements:


  • Degree educated
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ethical employment standards set out by the law and corporate regulation
  • Solid Compliance experience in financial services environment acting as a compliance officer or Compliance representative to other business areas (senior level)
  • Practical knowledge of FCA/ PRA Handbook, SYSC, JMLSG, BCOBS, Financial crime, ABC etc
  • Working Knowledge of various areas i.e. Trade Finance, Correspondent banking, Complaints, FATCA and AML processes
  • Proven ability to think strategically and to translate concepts into effective processe
  • Highly developed creative skills to resolve complex problems and/or identify alternatives where established procedures may exist
  • Ability to demonstrate decisiveness and sound judgement on a consistent basis
