We're seeking someone with risk-related experience ideally from within the financial services, banking or investment management sector to work within this varied role, covering an 8-month parental leave within our Group Risk Management team here at SJP.


You'll be a key member of the Risk Framework and Technology team, responsible for developing and maintaining an effective risk management framework across the Group in line with relevant regulatory requirements.


The role will be the risk lead for developing training materials and coordinating training for the Risk team and for the business.

You'll also be responsible for developing strategic and emerging risk content for relevant executive and non-executive committees.


What you'll be doing:


  • Developing & delivering training content for the wider Group Risk Management Team.
  • Developing training content for the '1st line' employees to be delivered by Risk Business Partners.
  • Developing and supporting a network of 'risk champions' in the business.
  • Facilitating regular Strategic and Emerging Risk Assessments and developing summary reports for Group Risk Executive, the Executive Board, Board Risk Committee and various entity boards.
  • Monitoring internal and external sources of information to inform the view of emerging risks.
  • Developing & maintaining the Risk Management Framework
  • Delivering adhoc Risk Reporting supporting relevant Executive forums and legal entity boards
  • Contribute specialist technical knowledge and business awareness, where consulted, on the development, within the Group Risk Team, of other strategic priorities.
  • Policy Ownership (Risk management policy, Risk Management Framework & Internal controls Framework)

Who we're looking for:


  • An excellent understanding of risk management processes and controls, and previous experience in a risk, audit or compliancebased role.
  • Experience from within financial services/banking preferred.
  • Proficiency in use and development of userfriendly technology solutions, in particular experience in PowerApps and PowerBi would be advantageous. And the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent Excel skills, in order to be able to suitably manipulate data to produce and analyse MI.
  • A high level of problemsolving skill is required, including analysing MI from across the business, identifying trends and key results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and influence effectively.
