About us
We are a growing nonprofit group offering a unique role in a rewarding environment.
The ethos of the Friendly Food Club is to provide cooking skills, build confidence and help people discover they have choices about their food and health.
We work with vulnerable and marginalised people and communities across Dorset, so all of our sessions are free to participants.
You will need to go the extra mile.
We are looking for new tutors to join our team to help us support increasing numbers of groups requiring support.
You will be asked to assist planning, shopping, gather equipment, setup, deliver, clear up sessions and provide evaluation where required.
You may be working on your own or with another tutor or volunteer. It can be full-on and fast paced but incredibly rewarding.We are seeking an individual with a combination of skills and passionate about helping others to learn to cook.
This role may work well as a return to work after family, or as a part of other freelance employment.
You will need to be friendly, approachable, flexible and adaptable according to the situation and a clear communicator. There is kit to carry, pack and sometimes store.Ideally you will have experience in cooking, teaching and/or caring, particular with children or adults with learning difficulties. Ideally you will also have a keen interest in or have studied nutrition.
You will need to be able to show strong organisational skills, have the ability to listen and relate to people from all different backgrounds, be adaptable and a can-do attitude.
The organisation is growing so hours may increase in the near future.
We offer training in safeguarding and food hygiene and cover costs of DBS checks.
