Job description:


  • To provide a quality customer service to victims of crime through effective verbal and written communications, in particular drafting DCV letters, arranging meetings with victims, where appropriate and responding to complaints, telephone enquiries and VRR requests

Person specification:

Record all communications correctly in CMS.

Arrange and attend meetings with victims and witnesses, where appropriate, within prescribed timeframes. Make appropriate adjustments to enable victims and witnesses to attend.

Role model CPS values at all times.


Seek clarification where prosecutor decisions or enquiries to complaints are unclear/inadequate to enable a quality response to be provided to victims and witnesses.

Provide information to Witness Care Units, where appropriate, to facilitate effective and ongoing engagement with victims and witnesses.

Alert managers to any issues that require escalation.

Update victims and witnesses of progress where agreed timescales cannot be met.


Make appropriate adjustments or arrangements to overcome language difficulties or meet any other individual needs such as translation into another language or braille.
