A number of exciting Assistant Psychologist roles have become available in our innovative and 'outstanding' (CQC rated) forensic directorate; this includes postsin the mainstream inpatient part of the service (low and medium secure), the autism specialist wards (medium secure), thedrug and alcoholservice (across inpatient and community services), and in the forensic community teams.

The service covers forensic mental health provisions across East London.

The posts will provide significant opportunities for clinical work under the supervision of HCPC registered psychologists.

The post holders would become part of a wider psychology department with excellent support and CPD opportunities.

The posts would particularly suit applicants with significant existing clinical experience, especially in a comparable clinical environment.

The range of Assistant Psychologist (AP) roles currently available are suited to people
forensic contexts. The AP roles provide a wide range of opportunities to the post
holders, including providing assessment and evidence-based psychological
interventions (individual and group-based) to offenders with a range of mental health

disorders under the care of forensic services, from the point of admission to postdischarge, and to support qualified psychologist in these tasks.

There are additional
opportunities to develop skills in psychometric assessment, evaluation of intervention
outcomes, and consultation with multidisciplinary staff teams. The post holders will
work autonomously day-to-day but all work will be under the clinical supervision of a
qualified Clinical/ Counselling/ Forensic Psychologis
