Purchasing experience is essential; CIPS qualifications are preferred however training may be available for the right person, to undertake a formal qualification in Purchasing.
Experience in buying raw materials for an engineering company would be an advantage.- Proactive raising and submission of all purchase orders to suppliers in line with company and accounts requirements from works orders and purchasing request forms.
- Control and reduction of stock by purchasing specifically for works orders and purchase request forms and utilizing existing available stocks.
- Responsibility for stock ordered and purchased from suppliers obtaining the best prices and quality from all suppliers.
- Coordination of outsourced treatments as required for works orders.
- Ad hoc purchasing requirements day to day as necessary.
- Working closely with the goods in departments to ensure that all deliveries are accurately recorded within the stock system.
- Review of system generated purchase reports to ensure that orders are chased as necessary and delivered on time according to target dates.
- Maintenance of system material codes.
- Strong negotiation skills, IT skills and administration skills.
- Hold supplier negotiation meetings to ensure that stockholding costs are minimized through effective ordering and accurate minimum/maximum stock levels.
- Research, develop and maintain a preferred supplier list in line with QMS requirements.
- Source new suppliers as required. Evaluate supplier performance based on KPI's of quality, price and delivery.
- Detailing of supplier spend with regard to company budgets and forecasts.
- Review of job costing reports with Finance Manager and Production Manager to ensure accurate review and corrective action as necessary moving forward.
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders and departments.
- Attend weekly production review meetings.
- Facilities management on a daily basis.
- Any other adhoc duties as required.
- Work within a detailed ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Take part in training provided.

From £32,000.00 per year
