The Radiation Emergency Response Group (ERG) within UKHSA's Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards Directorate is responsible for overall co-ordination and evaluation of UKHSA's emergency arrangements for radiological and nuclear incidents.


ERG is recruiting to two Emergency Preparedness Administrators covered by this advertisement The job holders will be required to work as part of a small team of scientists.

The main duties and responsibilities of these two posts are broadly split between the following work areas:


  • Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience arrangements within UKHSA RCE including maintaining systems, training staff and organisation of emergency exercise participation
  • Support of ERG's work with stakeholders external to UKHSA in the field of radiation emergency preparedness and response in developing arrangements, policies as well as organisation emergency exercise participation and training courses
