There is an exciting opportunity for a Clerical / Research Assistant to work within the Gastroenterology research team at the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This will include all LUHFT sites Aintree, the Royal, and Broadgreen.

The Trust has 4 sites, Aintree, the Royal, Broadgreen and the Dental hospital.


This post will primarily work in the Gastroenterology research team at the Royal site, with the scope and flexibility to work across other areas of research on all LUHFT sites.

The purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive support to the Researchers and the research teams.


The Clerical / Research Assistant will be expected to perform a variety of clinical and clerical research duties within a research environment.

They will assist with patient's study visits and clinical trial procedures.


This will include clinical tasks such as venepuncture, vital signs, collection, processing (including centrifugation, freezing, handling of dry ice) and shipping of biological specimens according to protocol requirements.


The clerical duties will involve collection of patient data from medical notes, completion of case report forms (CRF's), data inputting and providing general admin support.


Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Venepuncture

Blood processing

ECG's

Contacting patients/arranging appointments

Working alongside Research Nurses and Practitioners during study activities.

Operate computer systems to retrieve and enter data.

Maintain Study Documentation.

All Training will be provided.
