As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.


Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a PCC Hot Work Supervisor.

This role will involve assisting the PCC Hot work Supervisors in controlling furnaces within the forge, heat treatment and west treatment areas.


Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure heat treatment procedures are adhered to.
  • Light up and monitor furnaces throughout various processes.
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover for PCC Operatives 12hour shifts on a day and night shift rota (includes weekends).
  • Generate furnace sketches to illustrate how a load is charged, along with thermocouple locations and serial numbers.
  • Work with the Shift Manager to organise resource within the Forge and Heat Treatment department.
  • Support with the planning and charging of Forge and Heat Treatment furnaces.
  • Collect, sign and inspect ingots and forgings upon delivery.
  • Liaise with various departments throughout the site to organise transporting forgings.

About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Lift plan training, slinging and manual handling experience.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Previous experience / knowledge of furnace operation / Heat treatment furnaces.
  • Resource planning experience is a distinct advantage.

Days/Hours of Work
Standard hours: 07:45am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

When covering sickness or annual leave:
Continental shifts, 12 hour shifts.
