Salary:
£30,095 to £40,578 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Working Pattern:
Part-time (30 hours per week)

West Sussex County Council needs you We're looking for Occupational Therapists to work across West Sussex.

Our Community Occupational Therapy teams work with people over the age of 25 who have physical disabilities. We undertake assessments either by phone or in person.

Much of the work is promoting independence for the people we see and ensuring that we workin a strengths-based way.

This may be through sign-posting, the use of techniques, equipment or looking at adaptations to the home. You will be involved in cases requiring moving and handling and often looking at supporting major adaptations.


As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Work as part of a strong and dynamic Occupational therapy service.
  • Be required to undertake strengthsbased assessments as directed by Care Act 201
  • Be expected to use up to date evidencebased practice to inform your intervention and where appropriate carry out risk assessments and undertake assessments under the Mental capacity Act and/or Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.
  • Maintain continual professional development (CPD) and sharing best practice with colleagues to deliver positive outcomes for residents in West Sussex is key.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and be able to manage complex and sensitive situations.
