Health and Safety Coordinator


Salary:
£15, £16,556.96


Reports to:
Construction and Facilities Manager


Hours:

Part-time 24 hours per week


The successful Health and Safety Coordinator (HSC) will be extremely personable and be able to build good relationships with both internal and external customers.

The HSC will be able to provide advice, guidance and where required, training to ensure that all customers work in a safe and secure environment.

Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills are essential.


You will work with a range of customers in a variety of locations to ensure that all health and safety records are monitored and reviewed in line with company and HSE requirements; it is crucial that there is a robust approach to managing health and safety.

The successful applicant must hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use.


The Role


The role of HSC is to work with all customers (employers and work placement providers) to ensure that every workplace has an up-to-date and compliant vetting record, this will extend to all Skills Group sites.

There will be a requirement to carry out spot checks on our premises to ensure the y are compliant.

Working with teams across the organisation, the HSC will facilitate training in accordance with organisational, sector and HSE requirements. This will cover but not limited to Health and Safety, First Aid and Fire Warden.

The HSC will coordinate the recording and follow up of all incidents, accidents and near misses and carry out staff and learner risk assessments.


HSC will carry out site safety, evacuation drills, emergency procedures and ensure that all First Aid supplies and equipment are up to date and valid.


Personal Skills

  • An excellent communicator with all people and at all levels
  • Be extremely organised with outstanding time management skills
  • Computer literate, in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Flexible approach and be willing to work outside of normal hours
  • A health and safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH etc.) would be desirable
