What is the opportunity?:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key member of our UK IT Engineering & Delivery Team.

You will be responsible for managing the technical test team and ensure testing objectives are delivered on our UK Mortgage Platforms.

In this role, you will:


  • Manage and mentor the technical test team through the full endtoend delivery of various work streams, which may also involve supporting post launch support activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, timelines, challenges and priorities with the responsibility of communicating test progress and managing defects.
  • Develop test strategies, plans and estimates.
  • Responsible for shaping and overseeing the testing process whilst allocating tasks to ensure testing objectives are met within project timelines
  • Providing technical test expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle ensuring successful delivery of tests

What will make you stand out?:

You are technically literate with a proven track record of effective management of Application Test Teams with strong collaborator and people management skills.

You have robust planning and organisational skills using relevant methods with the ability to work to strict deadlines and standards in a highly collaborative manner.

You have a solid understanding of testing principles and practices with strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail.

Demonstrating the ability to work on own initiative and showing flexibility to deal with changing priorities as required within an Agile environment.


Excellent analytical, communication skills, both verbal and written, with technical and non-technical audiences with the ability to relate to business community and translate requirements into testing solutions.


  • Knowledge of Mortgage systems and UK Mortgage processing
  • Experience of Automated Testing e.g. Selenium, Cucumber, Load Runner
  • Experience of IT delivery using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Ability to identify pragmatic implementation solutions to business and technical challenges
  • ISEB/ISTQB Testing Intermediate Qualification

More about the team:


Our IT Engineering & Delivery area is responsible for the build, test and implementation of key systems that serve both our internal and external customers.

The UK IT Engineering & Delivery Team provides full end to end technical delivery capability, including analysis & design capability, alongside development, testing and environment management.

The team works very closely with the Home Buying and Ownership business, Group Change Teams and Technology Services.

If the role is to be on-site this is where the office location will be stated.

This is a hybrid onsite role and can be done anywhere in the United Kingdom with the primary office location as Bristol.

Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
