- _team to manage and lead the Strategic Commercial Development Team (CDT) function to deliver shopper centric, market leading, long term strategic plans in line with the UK Confectionery Business goals.

A day in the life of a Strategic Category Lead...
In this exciting and dynamic role leading the Commercial Development Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Create, ahead of the Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP) process longer term format, channel and customer strategic plans using relevant category insight.
  • Use these plans to give the right strategic inputs to the Innovation & Renovation and ICP process. Within the ICP process deliver market leading plans to ensure winning customer partnerships and firstclass execution of our Brands
  • Strategic Revenue Management: Understand & plan optimal investment choices by channel, customer and format. Focus on portfolio management and bring balance through fewer, bigger, better pieces of innovation in the right channel and format.
  • Category Leadership: To shape omnichannel format strategies and plans for our market and support the team to:
  • Integrate insight to our longer-term strategic plans and I&R projects by understanding and connecting the category growth drivers, activation platforms, consumer needs, trends, market and competitors
  • Understand the channel/customer landscape and build an omnichannel format plan to reflect growth
  • Create winning customer plans and partnerships to deliver business metrics
  • Commercial Planning: Lead our mediumterm commercial brick ups & promotional guideline processes through plans that deliver against business targets

What will make you successful?
To be considered for this opportunity, we're looking for experienced Category/Strategy Development individuals from within the FMCG sector.

Other key experiences we're looking for include:

  • An appreciation and understanding of Shopper need states


  • Knowledge of Customers

  • Traditional Retailer, Digital & Out of Home operations
  • Commercial experience (including revenue, profit, promo activity, pricing etc)
  • Strategic Revenue Management experience
  • Understanding and incorporating Category Strategies, Trends, Channel and Customers & Shopper behaviour
  • Evidence of strategic ability
  • Strong evidence of working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional results
  • Experience of leading teams and developing people
