Description

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operative/Engineering Operative for our client who are a specialist manufacturer of parts to the automotive and aerospace industries.


This position operates on a rotating / shift pattern, Monday to Friday, and the hourly rate is £12.83 per hour inclusive of 17.

5% shift allowance


A night shift is also available Monday to Thursday 9.30pm to 6.15am, paying £14.52 per hour, inclusive of 33% shift allowance.


Duties & Responsibilities will include:


  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
  • Prepare and operate CNC machinery for tasks such as milling and grinding
  • Understand specifications and able to read mechanical drawings.
  • Programme instructions
  • Prepare materials
  • Complete tests to ensure the machines produces the correct outputs according to specifications
  • Set machines to complete full cycles
  • Monitor the machines, making any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Inspect and measure finished products
  • Operate CMM Machines to verify integrity of parts produced previous on CNC Machines

Essential skills/experience:


  • Knowledge & use of CMM Machines along with CMM Results & Reports
  • Knowledge, use & control of Calibrated Inspection Gauges & Fixtures
  • Ability to Read Engineering/Technical Drawings
  • Understanding of Dimensions & tolerances
  • Good Problem Solving Skills
  • Pride in quality of work produced
  • Aspiration to develop & learn new skills
  • Understanding of Lean, 5S & TPM
