Laboratory assistant
Payrate:
£13 - £22per hour (dependant on experience)
Duration: 6 months initially (potential to be extended)
Location:
Reading
Hours: 37.5hrs - Mon - Friday 9AM-5PM (Flexible)
Are you someone with an eye for detail, well organised and can communicate well to ensure smooth process and contribute towards team goals? Do you have previous experience or a background in scientific environments? If so, we are looking for you.
Main role responsibilities include:
Your Skills and Experience:
- Analytical experience, preferably including broader industry experience preferred
- Recent experience in routine analytical testing and good manufacturing and laboratory practice (e.g. quality control) and/or technical writing experience preferred
- Good knowledge of analytical techniques used for quality controls necessary S
- Strong Good Science aptitude and good practices focus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive thinker who can anticipate future issues and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Strong Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Good Computer literacy
Responsibilities & Goals
The work will involve fluoride titrations, review of methods versus original documentation, ensuring compliance to internal standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), format and a range of Pharmacopoeias.
- Conform to site and lab Health, Safety and Environment requirements
- Comply with principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Adherence to global/site methods and site SOPs
- Ensure timely delivery of methods reviews and routine testing data and reports as necessary
- Testing may include: Appearance testing, Titrations, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Ion Chromatography (IC), Solution preparation using approved reference standards
- Provide communication to the Supervisor and support timely investigation of all compliance findings, retests, and test deviation investigations and actions
- Highlight to the Supervisor any problems associated with work which might pose a hazard or impact quality
- Highlight to the Supervisor any capacity (or predicted capacity) issues in order to facilitate priority management decisions
- Highlight to the Supervisor any observed compliance outages
- Have personal ownership for quality of service; working with Supervisor to implement recommended improvements.
- Scheduling and tracking for all agreed activities.
