Shift Pattern is on a weekly rota basis with a short/early finish on Fridays

Early shift:
Monday to Thursday 6am - 1.45pm; Fridays - 6am to 11.30am

Late shift :
Monday to Thursday 1.30pm - 9.15pm; Fridays am - 5pm

Main Purpose of Job & Accountability:

Reporting to the Shift Manager deputised by the Operations Manager, the job holder is responsible for the day to day print manufacturing process as instructed through the print plan.


On a day to day basis, the job holder will report to the Print Supervisors and the job holder is expected to deliver print in accordance with the customer specification and play a key role in standardising the ways of working by following the site procedures and policies at all times.


Principal Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Specific Areas of Responsibility include:


  • The role requires the job holder to work to practices that support the site hygiene, food safety, environmental and safety programmes.
  • As information is made available through the production plan the job holder will be required to manufacture goods accurately and timely whilst maintaining compliance at all times.
  • Other duties will include your input to local print forums which are challenged with delivering operational excellence through continuous improvement especially in the field of SMED and yield.
  • Clear communication is key to success as the role requires regular dialogue with the print management team, as well as the CI, Compliance and SMED.
  • The Printer is responsible for delivering the day to day printed goods and reporting any press or external issues that may cause the plan to change or cease.
  • The role requires the demonstration of the appropriate attitudes and behaviours, encouraging the delivery of individual and team objectives. Links to the SMED team are vital.
  • The Printer must clearly communicate, using agreed tools and techniques, the print plan status at all times. The input of data into the Radius system must be accurate to allow ongoing analysis.
  • The job holder must support the "manage by facts" culture by monitoring and communicating print related information to the supervisory team.
  • Teamwork and day to day improvement of the internal customer supplier relationships are paramount.

Tasks:


  • Daily production of the print plan in accordance with the specification.
  • Working in a safe manner at all times and support for the site safety objectives and reporting any safety concerns to the Production Supervisors.
  • The timely and costconscious delivery of the print plan.
  • Contribution and compliance to the Operations improvement forums through involvement and dialogue.
  • Local adherence to the quality systems and input into the local risk assessments.
  • Day to day adherence to the site environmental objectives.
  • Personal development through coaching, internal courses and appraisal.
  • Working at all times in accordance with the site guides and procedures.
  • The strengthening of internal customer supplier relationships by seeking to understand other team goals, particularly in the areas of SMED and yield.


The Post holder will work a rotational double day shift pattern - 36hrs as set out in their contract of employment, additional hours maybe required dependant on the needs of the business.

The post holder is responsible for their continuous professional and personal self-development. Experience of high end label manufacture required.


The extent and speed of change in the delivery of services is such that adaptability is essential to this level of appointment.

The post holder will be required to maintain, enhance and develop their knowledge, skills and aptitudes necessary to respond to changing situations.
