This position is part time - 20 hours per week.

The Home...
Welcome to Haydale Care Home in Glasgow, situated three miles from the city centre. Nestled in scenic Tollcross Park, all the local amenities are close to hand.

The local bus stops nearby, and the Home is in easy reach of Glasgow's excellent public transport links and close to the M8 for drivers.


We care for Residents young and older, living with learning disabilities, as well as providing residential care and dementia care for people aged 65 and over.

Our expert teams practise person-centred care, putting the holistic needs of each Resident at the heart of everything we do.

We aim to help Residents live happy, independent lives with our full support and care.


Your Duties...

  • You will work with the Home Manager and other staff members to ensure day to day maintenance and improvement on the fabric of the building, it's services and the grounds, in order to provide a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Up to date knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations are a must.
  • There will be an 'On call' element to the role for advice and action in the event of an emergency (this will be out of hours
  • Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture / equipment and any other potential hazards to the Home Manager, who will advise accordingly.
  • Carry out any decoration in all areas as and when required in order to maintain standard of Home.
  • Test the fire alarm system, and log results, weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
  • Ensure all ventilation units and lights are kept clean. Replace any defective light bulbs / diffusers.
  • Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
  • Test, and record, water temperatures as specified in Company procedures and as required for Legionella control.
  • Maintain a "Maintenance Book" in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
  • Assist/supervise with deliveries to the Home. Monitor delivered goods closely.
  • Create and maintain an inventory of all furniture & fittings and equipment in the home and log in / out all incoming / disposals
