Main Duties

  • Maintaining certification
  • Maintain Plant requisitions
  • Maintain Consumable requisitions
  • Knowledge of local working practices
  • Undertake general office and stores duties
  • Updating system with receipts in stores on to Oracle.
  • Understand local requirements out with standard items
  • Picking of goods to meet site demands
  • Flexible to move within the four disciplines within the stores, plant, picking, consumable picking, goods inwards and goods return.
  • Receive plant and consumables returned from site, ensure that they are booked back on to the system and checked for damage in the case of plant items, and for that of consumable items the items are recorded correctly to ensure stock can be booked back into the system and the appropriate credit returned to the sending site if required.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and coordinate the picking and despatch of all plant and consumable items in a timely manner to suit site requirements.
  • Have a good understanding of the operating software within the stores, Rental Result for Plant and Oracle for Consumables.
  • Ensure the timely receipt of plant and consumables into the Stores and appropriate relocation of the goods into the store's racks and bins.
  • Consumable shortages are to be dealt with on a timely basis daily, to ensure that they are sent to the appropriate site in a timely manner, either by internal transport or that of a courier service.
  • Ensure the working environment within the Stores areas are kept in a clean and tidy manner to minimise the risk of hazards to those personnel working within the areas.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practises throughout the working day to maintain correct plant identification/status/location in the Stores and out on site via despatches.
  • Coordinate site requirements for external hire by using procurement personnel to hire items required.
  • As necessary help build relations with site personnel to ensure the success of the Stores.
  • Hold a counter balance FLT Licence preferably a telescopic reach truck.
  • Ideally hold a licence for the use VNA aisle trucks used for picking.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of numeracy and literacy skills. Some technical Knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical plant items hold a current Fork lift truck licence.
Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in stores or warehousing
Experience

  • 12 months store environment

  • Fork lift truck licence
