Job summary

As a Freelance Polish Interpreter, you will facilitate accurate, confidential, and impartial communication between English-speaking service providers and Polish-speaking service users.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete consecutive, simultaneous, or whispered interpretation between Polish and English in a professional, impartial, and confidential manner.
• Convey the meaning, tone, and context of the source language into the target language without omission, addition, or distortion.
• Adhere strictly to the Interpreter's Code of Conduct and professional ethics at all times.
• Manage assignments efficiently, ensuring punctuality and professional presentation.
• Maintain accurate records of assignments and submit invoices promptly.
• Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance linguistic and subject-matter knowledge.

Qualifications

• Linguistic Proficiency: Fluency in both Polish and English (written and spoken). Polish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Eligibility: Must be eligible to work as a self-employed/freelance interpreter in the UK.
• DBS Check: Must possess an Enhanced DBS (registered with the Update Service is highly desirable) or be willing to apply for one immediately upon offer.
• Professionalism: Proven reliability, excellent communication, strong listening skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.
