About the Employer:
The Van der Vlist Transport Group are international specialists in Heavy Transport and Technical Logistics currently looking to recruit a Commercial Coordinator to be based at the UK Office in Hull.
Operations Coordinator Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager and the Managing Director, the Operations Coordinator will carry out the day to day activities involved in ensuring the effective running of the Operations Team and all of its responsibilities.
The Operations Team provides an essential point of contact to our customer base managing all aspects of a job from order confirmation through transport planning to invoicing and ensuring that all clients are kept fully up to date from the initial time when they place their order right through to providing paperwork to confirm delivery has taken place.
The role requires the Individual to carry out tasks as outlined below relating to the planning and operational side of Van der Vlist UK's activities as well as additional tasks as required.
The individual will be required to take responsibility for the day to day activities of the operations department under supervision and direction of the Operations Manager.
Operations Coordinator
Co-ordinator Responsibilities:
- Order processing
- Transport planning
- Liaising with clients & suppliers
- Customs related activities
- Raising and sending proof of delivery documents and invoice's
- Daily update of planning board
- Weekly update of order spread sheets
- Updating supplier database
- Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for wide load movements in the UK and Ireland.
- Submitting the necessary permit authorisation request to the Authorities & Police.
- Liaising with Authorities & Police on the proposed route.
- Updating Operational Reports up to date.
- Speaking to suppliers to obtain documentation.
- Storage & technical activities including but not limited to:
- Booking of cargo and subcontractors on and off site
- Highlighting site PPE and safety requirements
- Traffic flow management
- Load, unload and movement of mobile machinery
- Machinery washing and technical activities
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience of transport and logistics industry
Previous experience of customs procedures and formalities
Positive attitude to work and learning
