We are looking to recruit two Health and Safety Advisors to join our hard working and dedicated Health and Safety Team, this is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, hardworking and self-motivated individuals to join our team to work closely with others to provide an effective and efficient health and safety provision across the Council and with key partners and stakeholders.


These posts would suit an aspiring Health and Safety professional as there will be opportunities for further formal training to better your skills and knowledge and gain valuable experience of working alongside other members of the Health and Safety Team - ultimately leading to IOSH recognised qualifications, professional IOSH membership and more.

As such the salary range is dependant on training and experience.


You should be able to demonstrate you have experience of working in a Health and Safety environment, to promote good practice and a positive health and safety culture.


You should have experience and knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice and standards of compliance, as well as being able to contribute to the production and development of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

Alongside this you should have knowledge and experience of undertaking workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and make recommendations for any corrective action required.


You should also have knowledge and experience of reviewing accident and incident reports, undertaking investigations and producing recommendations for improvements and be confident to communicate with external agencies.


You should be able to prioritise and organise your workload, to work to deadlines and have an eagerness and enthusiasm to work with wider colleagues across the organisation to continually improve safety culture and behaviours and promote health and safety standards.
