The post holder will co-ordinate the administrative services for critical care and have responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the department.
- To be responsible for the coordination of the administrative processes for critical care (north and south units)
- Line management responsibilities for reception staff, providing cover in their absence to ensure a continuous service to the department
- Supporting the reception team with the general unit administration, dealing with queries and utilising good organisational skills
- To ensure all calls are dealt with courteously and in a timely manner using initiative, discretion, and sensitivity at all times, escalating more difficult queries to the nurse in charge
Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated care trust which provides hospital and community health services for Hackney, the City and surrounding communities.
The trust operates acute services from a single site: Homerton University Hospital, which opened in 1986. The hospital has almost 500 beds spread across 11 wards, a ten-bed intensive care unit and maternity, paediatric and neonatal wards. Community services are provided by staff working out of 75 partner sites in Hackney and the City of London. The trust has a separate registration to provide continuing health care at the Mary Seacole Nursing Home.
The hospital has three day-surgery theatres and six main operating theatres for all types of general surgery, trauma and orthopaedics, gynaecology, maxio-facial, urology, ENT, obesity, bariatrics and obstetrics.
