    Site Manager Role Overview

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Ensuring compliance on site to company Health and Safety standards, NHBC requirements, building regulations, and overall quality standards.
    • Coordinating labour and resources on site to deliver the build programme, scheduling trades for optimal delivery.
    • Undertaking company-directed quality control procedures, inspecting work, and rectifying defects to prevent additional costs or delays.
    • Monitoring production costs, approving payments to contractors, and initiating plot inspections with local authorities.
    • Conducting toolbox talks to promote best practices and drive results-oriented behavior among site staff.
    • Demonstrating a proactive approach to risk mitigation, build sequencing, and overall site quality.
    • Collaborating with internal departments, external suppliers, and partners to ensure project completion.
    • Maintaining high site presentation standards with support from the Contracts Manager.
    • Leading by example in health and safety, organisation, conduct, quality of work, and professionalism.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Proven experience managing build programmes and key priorities, delivering quality and weekly targets through effective labour force management and team working ethos.
    • Excellent communication skills, explaining details and ensuring full compliance.
    • Chartered Institute of Builders membership or equivalent qualifications such as NVQ level 5 in Construction Management or time-served trade experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of construction, housebuilding, and relevant legislative requirements like Health and Safety, NHBC, and Building Regulations.
    • Nice to have: Experience in structural Steel.
