Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Auditor to join their team based in the Oxfordshire area.

JOB DETAILS

PAY RATE: £35,336 £38,553 per annum
WORK TYPE: Permanent
WORK PATTERN: Full Time
LOCATION: Oxfordshire

JOB SUMMARY

You will assist the Chief Internal Auditor in delivering impartial assurance on the internal control, risk management, and governance framework that underpins the management of both strategic and operational risks, in accordance with Section 151 of the LocalGovernment Act of 1972, the 2015 Accounts and Audit Regulations, and the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

Determine the areas that require internal audit assurance and create a plan for each individual audit assignment to deliver that confidence.
Plan and complete assigned audit assignments on schedule and within the allotted audit days, which includes selecting and utilising the most effective internal audit methodology to meet the audit's goal.
Delivering findings and conclusions that are in line with the assigned audit's goal verbally and in written reports to senior managers, as well as formulating wise suggestions and negotiating practical management solutions when a significant flaw in the systemof internal control or governance is present.
To carry out audits of operational and strategic risks based on riskbased assurance.
To conduct business in accordance with the Chief Internal Auditor's performance criteria and internal auditing standards for professionals.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

CIA, the CCAB, the CMIIA, or considerable equivalent experience.
Superior interpersonal, persuasion, and bargaining abilities are necessary to impact positive outcomes.
Good communication abilities, particularly the ability to write and present reports effectively
To offer assurance on the management of operational and strategic risks, postqualification experience implementing internal auditing procedures.
