Following a recent service redesign, the Morning Star hostel provides high quality supported accommodation to 20 homeless men in Hulme.
The hostel is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with at least two members of staff on shift outside office hours.
We are therefore looking to recruit Bank Support Workers to work nights, evenings and weekends to ensure a smooth-running service for our Hostel.
You will provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents coming in and out of the building, as well as spending time with residents when they are in communal areas.
You will ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort in the building to create a welcoming atmosphere, as well as taking pride in the appearance of the building and facilities.
You will assist in the smooth running of the hostel such as maintaining a safe environment, monitoring CCTV, answering telephone calls and undertaking health and safety checks.
Additionally, you will maintain the security of the building and report any incidents or accidents to on call staff/emergency services.
Residents will be supported by signposting them to support services, respond to any need for first aid as well as abiding by service procedures and guidance.
Experience of working with vulnerable people who are homeless is essential, this also includes safeguarding and health and safety, but training will also be provided.
