Quality & Compliance Officer

Reporting to the Senior QSHE Officer, with a dotted line into the Finance Director.

Key Tasks:


Quality:

To manage the company's Quality Management System, ensuring that the requirements of customers and ISO 9001 are met at all times, leading to best practice and maintenance of
ISO 9001 accreditation.


To ensure the business has an appropriate QMS system in place, in terms of:

This falls in to two categories


Direct Responsibility:


  • To own & manage the Quality Management System, keeping it up to date and making it accessible and functional for managers, staff, customers, and external auditors
  • To ensure the business has adequate internal audit resource and work with management/HR to ensure continuity of support
  • To prepare and lead Kolorcraft's response to all quality reviews/audits requested by clients, accreditation bodies or other third parties (e.g., insurers)
  • To ensure the Management Team and line management are suitably trained and supported to enable them to investigate and follow through all defects with appropriate corrective actions independently
  • To accurately maintain the Defect Log to ensure all defects are captured promptly and presented to the Management Team for immediate follow up
  • To ensure all defects are closed promptly and within the agreed business timescales by appropriate staff and with suitable corrective actions recorded.
  • To undertake root cause analysis and make recommendations from the findings
  • To ensure the business has access to structured, clear, and simple quality documentation
  • To support the Management Team so they may fulfil their quality responsibilities
  • To support the Management Team and work on a daytoday basis to perform quality checks in line with the risk and root cause analysis

Combined with Third Party Support:

Work alongside the independent third-party technical provider: o with the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of its Integrated (QSHE)


Management System (IMS) and its demonstration of conformity to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and ensure all recommendations and actions are implemented o to ensure the business has access to a structured, clear, and simple QMS system o to implement a system to analyse closed defects on a regular basis and present findings and trends to the Management Team, identifying areas for focus and improvement, setting targets where appropriate.

o to implement all internal audits as required o to ensure successful re-accreditation at the relevant anniversary dates with specific focus:

- to ensure that the IMS conforms to the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:201- to ensure that the IMS processes determined as being owned by this post are delivering their intended outputs
- to ensure that the performance of the integrated management system and on opportunities for improvement is reported upon, in particular to senior management
- to ensure that the integrity of the IMS is maintained when changes to it are planned and implemented
- to assume responsibility for those aspects of the IMS over which this Role has control
- to support the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation.


General:


  • To communicate to management any information which will assist in the smooth running of the Department.
  • To continually strive for selfimprovement, to be prepared to accept greater responsibility within the Company.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by Kolorcraft Management.
  • To work in conjunction with your Line Manager to identify any training and development requirements.

General H&S:


  • To maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the department at all times, with specific regard to Environmental, Health, Safety & Welfare issues
  • To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do
  • To cooperate with the company on health and safety matters and to report upwards all hazards and defects observed in the workplace
  • To follow reasonable instructions regarding health and safety matters and to attend relevant health and safety training when required.
Previous expsoure to the wider elements of H, S, & E would be advantageous but not essential.
