Based in Cullompton since 1961 BAKO (Western) Ltd is a co-operative owned by its members.

We aim to provide our members with market leading pricing on bakery related products and ingredients, which we deliver across the Western region on our fleet of multi temperature vehicles.

Our team of employee's includes accounts, customer services, marketing, purchasing, quality, sales, transport and warehousing.

We are BRC (British Retail Consortium) accredited for Storage and Distribution. Our purpose built site stores food and non-food goods which can be frozen, chilled or ambient.

We have a permanent vacancy within the warehouse for a Night Shift Supervisor, this is an active hands on role, applicants will be required to work in the freezer/ambient and in goods in/overseeing the loading of Bako's fleet of lorries, the shift supervision of the nights team and support our driving team during the night shift.

Shifts start Sunday to Thursday, from 18:30-03:30 Reporting to Ross Waring, Warehouse Manager.

You will be responsible for the efficient, accurate and safe operation of all night duties, this includes order picking of ambient, chilled and frozen products, loading of vehicles, stock and code checking plus occasional goods receipt.

You will be responsible for all activities including site security, you will ensure the use of all mechanical equipment are carried out utilising authorised safe practices.

You will have experience of working in a supervisory role within a warehouse that deals with high volume product lines, previous knowledge of temperature controlled environments or BRC would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.

To succeed you will need good IT skills, the ability to supervise the warehouse team as well as the ability to build effective working relationships with all departments within Bako.

Great organisational skills and the ability to prioritise the team's workload on a daily basis.

Operating to company procedures working within health and safety requirements you will lead the team to pick goods accurately and efficiently, minimising the potential for picking errors.

You will seek to eliminate any loss or damage to products while in stock or during delivery, ensuring that only invoiced goods leave site.

Applicants will need to have at previous experience of managing a team.

Salary:
£31,500.00 per year
