Job Summary:

We are seeking a Product Technologist to join our Scruffs Workwear team.

As a Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our Scruffs garment specifications are generated correctly and accurately to ultimately improve sample accuracy and specification queries.

You will performing quality assurance tests and analyse data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our products.

This is a critical role that requires attention to detail and good communication skills to drive cross functional collaboration, ensuring that all business needs are met.


Main Responsibilities:


Product Development

  • Create and organise garment specifications alongside Product Development Manager
  • Support the creation and sending of technical packs to relevant factories for all new styles
  • Help build all product specifications, populate of BOMS and define garment specifications
  • Collate, organise and approve base and bulk test reports for all fabrics and trims for use in new product development, also validating historical test data
  • Arrange and lead fit sessions for all new product development

Achievement of all assigned critical path dates

  • Manage and request all sampling for all product groups
  • Approve and validate the quality of Proto, Bronze, Silver and Gold samples, along side bulk production, ensuring samples are right first time and on time
  • Working with the Product, Supply Chain and Development teams to ensure OTIF delivery of branded items in a timely manner to the correct location

Quality Assurance

  • Resolve queries and amend relevant specifications of existing products
  • Improve the consistency of specifications and terminology
  • Gain product feedback to improve future product development.

Compliance

  • Work along side the Product Development Manager and Category Manager to ensure due diligence on product certification
  • Build relationships with testing houses to ensure product certification and compliance is processed in a timely manner
General administration support
All other duties as reasonably required


Required Skills:


  • Methodical and highly organised, with great attention to detail.
  • Technical knowledge of garments and accessories gained through the relevant studies.
  • Experience within a garment technology or product development role essential.
  • The ability to effectively communicate across internal departments and external sources, both verbally and in writing.
  • A general knowledge of fabrics, lab testing, and assessment of results.
  • Ability to work in a structured and timely manner under pressure within a team environment.
  • Motivated to improve the product at every stage and strive for the highest achievable quality.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. (Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator would be useful.).
  • Excellent product technical ability and an understanding of garment construction.
  • Critical path management experience.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes and work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Great at managing time and prioritising tasks.
  • Proactive with the ability to work on own initiative

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
