The Service:
The Business Rates Team is part of the Council's Revenues and Benefits Service.

The team is based in Morpeth and administers and collects Non-Domestic Rates (Business Rates) from over 14,000 businesses in Northumberland.


The role:


You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to support the Council's commitment to provide excellent customer service.

A high degree of confidentiality is essential.


You must be a good negotiator, be able to deal confidently with a full range of requests and remain calm and logical in sometimes difficult situations.

You must have experience in working as part of a team, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative to process high volumes of work accurately to deadlines.

You should also have experience of operating computerised systems.

Experience of working in a Revenues Section in a local authority, and an IRRV Technician qualification would be desirable.
