We are searching for dedicated individuals to support three individuals with a Learning Disability and/or Mental Health Conditions on a daily basis within a Supported Living setting.

You will support the individuals to carry out their daily activities identified in their care plan such as; accessing the community, cooking, personal care, medication and cleaning while promoting independence.

The aim of all of our services is to improve quality of life. If you have a passion for supporting people to develop then we want to hear from you

Full time and part time posts available. (Over time is available) Approx. one sleep-in a week paid at £55 per sleep-in.

Applicants with experience of promoting independence, choice and social inclusion are preferred but training will be provided.


Please note interviews for this post will be held on 29th and 30th December.

Responsibilities:


  • Carry out and the implementation of care plans
  • Support clients with daily activities, i.e. cooking, homework and possibly personal care
  • Effectively communicate with all service users, staff and professionals
  • Promote independence at all times
  • Enable choice whilst balancing wellbeing
  • Adopt creative approaches to challenging behaviour
  • Calm and collected in pressurised situations
  • Create a supportive, nurturing and trusting environment where by people are able to develop

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a support worker within a care environment essential
  • Ideally qualified to level 2 or 3 in health and social care (not essential)
  • Able to work a shift pattern on a rolling rota
  • Flexibility with working hours
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of challenging behaviour essential
  • Calm and caring manner
  • An understanding of the difficulties encountered by young people with learning difficulties/Autism when transitioning from children to adult services
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • The ability to use non verbal communication systems and social stories
  • An understanding of Autism is essential
  • The ability to work within a Positive Behavioural Support Plan

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
