We are seeking a Band 7 with extensive theatres experience in scrub and/or anaesthetic to join our dynamic and motivated team. You will maintain clinical, leadership and management skills in a highly supportive senior team structure working across these areas. You will regularly manage the day to day activity of the services we provide in Main Theatres Unit 2, demonstrate effective and safe decision making ability and participate in all aspects of staff management.

We will offer you a full and comprehensive orientation package and professional support tailored to individual needs with ongoing support from the Practice Education Team in order for you to achieve your full potential. Main duties of the job

Provide professional and managerial leadership to the clinical/theatre teams within their designated areas.


Provide a highly visible and authoritative presence ensuring the provision of high quality services, responsive to the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.


Maintain a visible clinical presence acting as a role model upon whom patients, visitors and staff can rely for support to ensure the fundamental and specialist aspects of care are met.


Support the wider divisional leadership team covering weekends and nights when required to ensure effective and efficient management of services to agreed standards.

Support the Theatre Matrons by leading and developing theatre practitioners their clinical practice and meaningful improvements to patient care.

  • Manage the department out of normal working hours and deputise for the Theatre Matrons as required.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

Current and relevant registration on NMC/HCPC

Registered practice for a minimum of 2 years at Band 6

Mentorship/ Practice Assessor qualification

Evidence of recent professional development relevant to job role

Leadership qualification (e.g. ILM Level 2 Award)
