Junior PHP Software Developer - Leeds, United Kingdom - PCM Systems Ltd

As an expanding Leeds-based IT business, we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic individual wishing to develop their commercial software skills.

We are looking for a hard-working individual who has relevant technical experience and the right attitude, furthermore, the ability to learn is paramount.

Initially, the role would be part time (circa 2-3 days per week) leading to a full-time position for the right person.

We work primarily from our office in Morley near Leeds. For a full time applicant, there may be an opportunity for working from home part of the week.


Core technical skills required include:

• PHP (OO and MVC, experience with the Symfony framework)
• MySQL / MariaDB
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Additional skills that would be beneficial:

• Linux systems administration
• Docker
• Tailwind CSS framework
• Version control (e.g. Git)
• Graphic design

In addition:

• Analytical problemsolving skills to ensure our clients requirements are translated into systems that meet their needs
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain performance under pressure and to tight deadlines
• A 'can do' attitude and 'customer first' approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent in both written and spoken English)
• Organised, with a clear method to ensure clients expectations are delivered in a timely and professional manner

Salary - negotiable dependent on skill and experience
