Tutor for English Needed with QTS


If you have QTS and are an experienced English teacher looking for part time tutoring opportunities, come and work at our friendly, local tutorial centre after school one to two days a week.

Kip McGrath Folkestone & Hythe was set up by husband and wife team Jon and Tamara Baldwin in 2016. The Centre has been open 7 years and now has six tutors working there. We are looking to expand the number of taught English sessions we offer.

Tutors work with between 2 and 4 pupils per session. There are three sessions of 60 minutes per evening/Saturday morning. Pay is on a sliding scale, dependent on the number of pupils tutored. Full training on Kip McGrath computer systems and curriculum resources will be provided.


Must have:

  • QTS status
  • At least three year's teaching experience
  • Current knowledge of the English GCSE syllabus
  • Home computer access
  • Confident to teach KS3 English

Helpful to be able to:

  • Provide emergency sickness cover on other evenings
  • To be able to teach KS2 English confidently
  • Support Kent Test preparation

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 3.5-7 per week


Salary:
£20.00-£30.00 per hour


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Folkestone, CT20 2SA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Bachelor's (required)

Experience:


  • Teaching: 3 years (required)
  • Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • QTS (required)
