Credit control within Commercial Property Group established for over 40 years.

Birmingham City Centre

Job Specification

Managing rent and utility collections for a portfolio of commercial properties.
Managing accounts relationships with variety of Tenants.
Reconciling rent collections to accounts software.
Ensuring Tenant debts do not exceed debt threshold.
Input financial terms of Tenancy Agreements into credit control system accurately.
Sending of invoices, statements, and payment reminders to Tenants.
Sales ledger administration and reporting on cash collection.
Administration and filing of Tenancy documents.
Administering Direct Debit collections with Tenant.
Liase with management team on property repairs, maintenance, nonpayments, and legal proceedings.
Instruction of Third Party debt collection proceedings and legal letters.

Skills and aptitudes

Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills to chase payment from diverse array of clients.
Competent on Excel and Word.
Understanding of debt collection and basic accounting software. (QuickBooks etc).
Well organised individual for Payment collection deadlines and general document management.
Ability to handle/converse with problematic clients in a diplomatic and effective manner.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to understand Sales ledger in detail and reconcile tenant accounts
Strong desire to learn.

Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Credit controller preferably within a property business, however this is not entirely essential.
Basic understanding of a residential and commercial lease agreement. (Rent excl/plus VAT, Term Dates, Rent reviews, Break Clauses, Rent Free Periods, Insurance charge, Service Charges and Utilities charges).
