The RUH Estates Department are looking to recruit a Electrically biased Craftsperson who has the necessary experience working within a maintenance environment to join our dynamic and forward thinking Operational Maintenance Team.


Applicants are expected to have a good understanding of the function of Estates Maintenance, and any relevant and suitable healthcare experience would be an advantage, such as working with Nurse call systems, Security systems, Fire systems, LV/ HV systems and also any experience with a Building Management System (BMS).


Your positive attitude and capacity to work well, both within a team and alone without direct supervision will ensure your success.

Based at the RUH Site in Bath, the successful applicant will report to the Estates Officer (Operations). The Job Description further defines the role and responsibilities' required by the applicants.

  • To carry out inspections, tests, repairs, installations, as directed on trust properties, plant and infrastructure.
  • To undertake work as identified on works dockets allocated to you completing the works docket legibly in accordance with the Estates procedure.
  • To report Faults identified either when carrying out routine checks /planned preventative Maintenance or in the course of the normal working day. Using the estates reporting system 4141 to raise a work Docket.
  • To undertake planned preventative maintenance checks and complete report sheets legibly as required, in accordance with trust procedures and policies.
  • To identify parts and or equipment required to carry out designated work and use Estates Stores system to obtain required items in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
  • To investigate failures as directed and identify the permanent repair required, to ensure ongoing reliability and statutory compliance.
  • To assist other estate staff at all levels with works and problem solving where requested.
  • To adhere to the trust procedures where "permit to work " is in place
  • Participate in "on call" Rota's as required.
