Business Operations Manager

Birmingham

Salary £40-45k

Fixed term 12-18 months min

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the general smooth running of the Business Operations Team (Team Coordinators, Office Coordinators and PAs) within the group, ensuring appropriate resources are in place to provide an effective and efficient service
  • Responsible for the day to day management of Business Support (Team Coordinators and PAs). This will include resourcing, recruitment, staff development, performance management and appraisals.
  • Promoting and enabling flexible working
  • Placing wellbeing at the top of the agenda, ensuring staff are motivated and supported.
  • Understanding the internal client's requirements in terms of support activities and ensuring that the team have the required skill set to carry out their role. This will include identifying new support activities, identifying training needs and organisingtraining
  • Identifying absences and peaks of workload in advance, arranging for resources to provide cover where necessary
  • Be responsible for onboarding new members of the business support team, ensuring that their experience is smooth and enjoyable.
  • Being aware of H&S best practice, identifying risks, breaches or specific needs and liaising with the HSEQ team leader as appropriate.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in line management and all staffing matters from recruitment to performance management
  • Ability to manage, engage and motivate remote teams
  • Demonstrate solid experience in a similar role, ideally in professional services, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Be experienced in standard office administrative procedures
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Have achieved a minimum of level 5 NVQ qualification or a similar level of qualification
  • Membership of the CMI and an interest to achieve Chartered Manager would be advantage although not a prerequisite
  • Have an ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Be able to prioritise demands and cope with changing deadlines
