Job Role:
Fire Alarm Engineer - INSTALLS

Reporting To:
Head of Fire
***
Salary: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year DOE

70% Kent + 30% London

Hours: 45 hours per week. Overtime available if desired.

Main Areas of Responsibility:
To install, commission, service and fault find security fire systems on customer premises.


Duties and Key Responsibilities:


  • Awareness and Compliance with code of practice and industry regulations.
  • Ensure wiring duties meet with BS 5839 Part 1, Part 6 and BS 7671 (wiring regulations).
  • Ensure all fire alarm systems are BAFE compliant.
  • Installation of wired and wireless fire alarm systems, in line with specification, drawings and current regulations
  • Programming of systems to ensure fully operational.
  • Fault diagnosis of existing systems where testing of electrical connections will be required.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements as detailed within health and safety management system, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Use of mobile device to receive, update and communicate all tasks assigned to job holder.
  • Ensure company vehicle is kept clean, tidy and presentable at all times and in line with fleet requirements.
  • Wear and maintain all issued uniform clothing ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times.
  • Attend all mandatory training (Health & Safety, Fire, Asbestos, Working at Height etc) that has been arranged.
  • Be responsible for keeping up dated on changes in industry for working with electricity to maintain competence.
  • General Duties Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers, colleagues and third parties at all times and undertake all tasks as appropriate.
