Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to be part of the ophthalmic team. The Ophthalmology Team Leader provides valuable support and knowledge to the senior management, consultants and administration staff.


The post holder will support in ensuring the successful delivery of activity and performance targets for the Ophthalmology Department in Surgery and Critical Care.

This will include the monitoring and escalation of national and local targets and supervising a team responsible for ensuring patients' progress through the pathway occurs in a smooth and timely manner.

The post holders will be aware of specific arrangements in place regarding service provision and maintain an overview of patient pathways.


The post holder will provide a pivotal role in the continuing development of the administration teams and pro-actively suggest and implement changes to working practices to improve the service to patients.

Applicants should have good general NHS administrative knowledge, supervisory experience, good all-round IT skills and knowledge of patient-led information systems.


Excellent communication skills, an ability to engage and influence others, a high level of initiative and proven organisational skills are essential.
