Are you an experienced Process Engineer looking for the next step in your career? Do you hold previous experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment?


We are working alongside an established Facilities Management company based in Billingham looking to add a Process Engineer to its Chemical Team.

Within the role, you will support the development and operation of new and existing research engineering andsite utility equipment.


Within the role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provision of process engineering design for new research rigs and site infrastructure assets to deliver the capital programme for the business and improve operational efficiency
  • Checking & approval of process engineering calculations, including pressure relief calculations
  • Checking & approval of design calculations for safetycritical equipment
  • Collaborating with and providing technical expertise to project teams, technicians and customers during installation, commissioning, modification and troubleshooting of research engineering and site utility equipment
  • Participation in process hazard assessments and other technical risk assessments (including LOPA & Area Classification)
  • Provision of process support for site infrastructure (including gas storage & distribution systems, steam supply systems, and a mixed gas compressor house)
  • Design & review pressure relief systems

To be considered for the position you must hold some, if not all, of the following skills/qualifications:

  • Graduate Process Engineer
  • degree classification of 2:1 or higher (Essential)
  • Experience in operations & engineering at the R&D & pilot plant scale (Essential)
  • Experience in pressure relief design (Essential)
  • Experience in Process Hazard Assessments, including HAZOP, PHR and LOPA (Essential)
  • Experience of operating & commissioning equipment at the R&D & pilot plant scale (preferred)
  • Experience in OEE measurement & improvement techniques (preferred)
